The Works: Making science fun (and not just in that blow-stuff-up kinda way).

I’ll admit it. I had never heard of The Works before getting a Living Social Deal for half off admission for four. It sounds right up my little marble-run-loving boy’s alley. And if it weren’t for the fact that we just bought a membership to the Science Museum, I’d totally be all over said deal.

This place looks pretty cool. According to the website: The Works is a “hands-on, minds-on” museum that makes learning about science and engineering interesting, understandable and fun (recommended for ages 5-12). Exhibits are grouped into three themes: Gears & Gizmos, Build! and The Interactive Image. Right now there’s also a special visiting exhibit called Toys: the inside story where you get to see what’s inside favorite childhood toys (What? No tiny men drawing inside the Etch a Sketch?…Mom!). They can also experience hands-on engineering in the Design Lab ($2 more). And if your little enginerds can’t get enough, you’ll be happy to know The Works offers camps and birthday parties too.

So go get the deal (just a few days remaining!), check it out and report back. Leave a comment and tell us everything. Or you know…the works.
