I have to admit, even though this event sounds incredibly cool, we’re not big fans of crowds, so we’ve never been. But I’ve heard it’s fantastic fun. So if your family has a low requirement for personal space, you should definitely go Rock the Cradle (pump hand horns)!
This is a free day of family fun that combines music, art, books, puppetry and theatre put on by the ever-awesome 89.3 the Current. And they have all sorts of fun lined up. Like story time with the Current DJs (complete with overhead projections), theatre and dance workshops, Kid’s Disco with live music by Koo Koo Kanga Roo, and interactive video Playatta booth, live music (Bunny Clogs!) and theatre performances, a community art project, a musical instrument petting zoo…pant, pant, pant….Oh, you’re just going to have to see the complete schedule here.
I repeat, this event is very popular (read: Cah-razy!). You may want to ditch the stroller if possible. Also nearby street and ramp parking fills up fast. Your best bet? Park for free at Wells Fargo headquarters lot on 26th & 5th Avenue with shuttle service every 15 minutes starting at 10:30 am.
Note: There will be no Freebird, so keep your lighters at home.
