Free Family Funday: Year of the Dragon. Eastern culture just west of the Mississippi.

Happy New Year! What? I’m a little late? Not for CHINESE new year. For Chinese new year (January 23), I’m right on time!

2012 is the year of the water dragon. And you and your clan can celebrate this ancient tradition Sunday at Free Family Funday at North Mississippi Regional Park.

Sorry kids, you won’t meet any real dragons, but you will meet some real-life animals that live in and around the Mississippi River. Then create a Chinese lantern or your own dragon puppet and have a dragon parade along the river.

It’s a perfect way to kick off the new year. No matter which one you celebrate.
