Como’s Noon Year’s Party: A rezoolution worth keeping.

Your eight-year-old claims this will be the year he makes it to midnight. But you know he’ll be out before Ryan Seacrest’s over-moussed head ever hits the boob tube. Fear not. With Como’s Noon Year’s Party, you’ll get the excitement of a New Year’s countdown without ever seeing the clock strike 12 (am, anyway). And it’s all free.

The Radio Disney Party Patrol will be there (11 am -1 pm, 12/31). Along with  KidsDance (11 am – 1 pm, 1/1), voted “Minnesota’s Favorite Entertainment for Kids” by readers of Minnesota Parent Magazine. Plus there will be dancing, giveaways, festive hat making, special animal enrichment, zoo keeper talks (1 pm), story time, scavenger hunt, polar bear enrichment and interpretive program (10:30 am and 2 pm at Polar Bear Odyssey) and costumed characters. Then, at 11:58, it’s the big countdown to noon with hundreds of beach balls dropped from the ceiling. Bring your cell phones and holiday lights (if you can get them untangled) for recycling .

And you, too, will be Rockin’ the New Year with or without Ryan Seacrest.
