Twin Cities Food Truck Tour: Take their hunger on the road.

(A shout out to my hairdresser Emily for this excellent idea.)

Food’s so much better when it’s served on wheels (Exhibit A: ice cream truck). So skip the hum-drum PB&J and give your mini-foodies a taste of mobile goodness with a food-truck tour of downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul (bonus adventure points for taking the city bus or light rail).

There’s something for everyone. Heavy Table does a fantastic rundown of who serves what and where. Don’t see anything they like? Just walk a block or two. You can save a few bucks by packing a few water bottles. For the pickier eaters, there’s always a hotdog to be found. Cupcake on the Go? Just try to get them passed that one. Then park your picnic wherever you please (my boy likes the Peavy Plaza fountain) and dig in.

Next thing you know, they’ll want you to serve dinner out of the mini-van.
